This air purifier does work as advertised, just not for very long.
It recieved light use and had never been damaged, dropped or subjected to heavy air purification. It was on a bookshelf in a nonsmoking living room.
I purchased mine new from a dealer and it did work for 6 months. I returned it and they replaced it with a new one. At 11 months it died again. I was charged $20.00 to have it "looked at." It was replaced once again. At 14 months it died again. And, yes, I was charged another $20.00 for the "look." They told me that it would need to be replaced, but was out of warranty. The estimate for repair was $175.00. Needless to say, it went into the trash. What a waste of money.
I contacted the manufacturer's Customer Service Department twice and never recieved a response. I wrote to the President of the company. . . you guessed it, no response.
If you are considering buying an air purifier, I would reccommend another more reputable manufacturer.
