This if my first experience with a dehumidifier. The rapid dry just wasn't cutting it in the new apartment/new city. I use this to reduce the humidity in a 700+ square foot apartment from the 60's to the 40's. It works. The handle rattles slightly so making it as quiet as it can be took a tiny bit of effort. The water collection bin needs to be emptied once every day or two depending on how long it runs and the humidity. It's too loud to have in the same room to watch tv - but does an okay job keeping the apartment under 50% just running it during the day while we're at work. Turning the humidity dial down doesn't decrease the noise level.Wish I didn't need to use one.
