WEB WABSORBPD Absorber Replacement Pad Review

I've been using these filters in my central air conditioning unit for about a year now, and I have to say I'm very impressed with the odor removing capabilities. There are certain traditional foods that my mom cooks when visiting, and while they are great to eat, they leave a strong odor in the house, which can linger for days. I was quite surprised when I ran the air conditioner for 10-20 minutes, and the odor from one of her smellier dishes was undetectable. Normally, your nose desensitizes to the smell after a bit, but it hits you when you go out for a while and then come back in. Even entering and leaving the apartment, I couldn't detect the smell.
Note that for those of you who are looking to use this filter to eliminate allergens, you do make a tradeoff when using this filter compared to one of the higher efficiency filters like the MERV 11 filters from 3M. I do think the 3M filters were better for allergy reduction, but this WEB filter is a decent compromise, considering the remarkable odor removal capabilities.
As an added bonus, this type of carbon filter should theoretically provide some reduction of indoor pollutants, and since I live in Houston, I do appreciate any edge I can get in that regard. I don't expect that it will turn a bad smog day into a good one, but it's possible that it could make a high ozone day a little more bearable.
The only downside is that trimming the filters is a bit of a pain. I would recommend getting some good strong shears or perhaps tin snips to make the cutting a little easier on your hands.
