We invested in this pricey air purifier because we moved into newly built home. The chemicals from the new materials caused respiratory issues with myself and my daughter. The unit itself definitely helped the issue of airborne chemicals yet the 4 gas cartridges didn't last nearly as long as the manufacturer stated. In fact, the unit itself began to emit chemical odors after 6 months.
