I have two different models of this air filter. We bought one and used it. Then, we bought another unit. They run 24x7 in my house because some family members have allergies and we have multiple pets. I've had no problems at all. The noise level is quite tolerable to us, even with one sitting right behind the sofa. One thing I have to remember to do is turn them on again after a power failure.
